ABOUT KESERIYA
What is Keseriya?
Keseriya is a home textile brand built around a simple belief: the moments we gather for deserve to be beautiful. We make hand block printed table linens and handwoven throws and cushions, each made by hand in small batches by skilled artisans in India. We exist because moments matter, and the things we bring to the table and the home should feel as special as the people we share them with.
What does “Keseriya” mean?
Keseriya is the Hindi word for the color of kesar, saffron, the golden hue drawn from the crocus flower, which you’ll find nestled in our logo. We chose it because across cultures and centuries, this color has meant the same thing: celebration, weddings, festivals, and the joy of being together. For us, it means connecting with joy.
Why table linens?
Because the table is where life actually happens. There’s something about sitting close enough to share a meal but still having your own space. People relax into themselves. Friends open up. Families catch up in ways they don’t anywhere else. The conversations you remember from last year almost certainly happened at a table.
We wanted to make something that lives at the center of those moments, not folded away for a special occasion that never quite arrives. Hand block printed linens are made to be used, loved, and eventually passed down. Just for the feel of it.
Founder
Keseriya was founded by Deepti Jain, who spent 25 years co-founding and building a semiconductor technology company until its acquisition in 2024. She then chose to build something rooted in craft, human connection, and purpose, and found it in the work of artisans in India. Every piece is made slowly, in small batches, by skilled hands.
THE CRAFT
What is hand block printing?
Hand block printing is a textile art practiced in India for centuries. Skilled artisans carve designs into wooden blocks, then press them onto fabric one by one, by hand. Every impression carries the touch of the person who made it. No machine can replicate that.
Are all pieces truly handmade?
Yes. Our table linens and cushion covers are printed by hand, and our throws are woven by hand on a loom. No two pieces are exactly alike. You may notice subtle variations in print alignment, color depth, pattern, or weave. These are not flaws. They are the signature of a human hand at work. Made by people, for people.
Who are the artisans behind your pieces?
Our block printed pieces are printed by Sachin, Pandit, and Raju, skilled craftsmen from families where this art has been practiced for generations, in their workshop near Jaipur. Our throws and handwoven cushions are made by weavers on handlooms in India. We work in small batches on purpose, to respect their pace, their skill, and their livelihood. Every piece carries their hands in it.
Are your dyes safe and eco-conscious?
Yes. We are committed to processes that are good for the artisans who make our pieces, the people who use them, and the world we all live in.
We use high-quality azo-free pigment dyes, chosen for rich, lasting color.
Every block printed piece is washed and finished after printing to remove excess dye, so it arrives ready to use. A little color release in the first few washes, especially in deeper shades, is natural for hand block printed cotton. Wash separately in cold water for the first few washes.
How long does it take to make a piece?
Each block printed piece is printed, dried, washed, and finished through several stages. A tablecloth takes about 8 days to make. Runners and placemats take about 4 days, and napkins about 2 days. That time is what makes each piece worth keeping.

What fabric do you use?
Table linens (Amer): 100% natural cotton, 130 to 180 GSM. Soft, breathable, and built for real life at the table. Natural cotton softens with every wash.
Throws and cushions (Diwan collection): our throws are handwoven from hand-spun tussar silk blended with wool or handloom linen, and one is woven entirely from handloom linen. Our block printed cushion covers are printed by hand on handloom linen. Each product page lists its exact fiber content.
What sizes and pieces are available?
Our Amer collection includes tablecloths in two sizes, table runners in two lengths, placemats, napkins, and tea towels. Our Diwan collection includes handwoven throws and cushions. Our Small Joys collection includes handmade journals. Sizes are listed on each product page. If you need something specific, reach out. We love a good conversation.
Can I see your pieces in person?
Yes. Our collections are available at Roam Homeware, 5661 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037.
Who makes the Small Joys journals?
Our journals are handmade in Rajasthan by women who stitch and cover each one by hand. Many of them are homemakers, and this work gives them an income of their own. We chose these pieces to support their work.
Do colors look exactly as they do in photos?
We do our best to show colors faithfully, but screens vary, and because each piece is made by hand, there may be subtle differences in shade or depth between pieces. Think of it as your piece being uniquely yours. If color matters to your decision, reach out before ordering and we’ll help.

DIWAN COLLECTION
What is the Diwan collection?
The Diwan collection is our collection of handwoven throws and cushions, made with Roam Homeware of La Jolla. In a haveli, the diwan is a sitting area layered with cushions, where family and friends gather. It brings that feeling home with handwoven throws, cushions, and cushion covers printed by hand, made to mix and match.
Why is each piece named for a place in California?
Our pieces are made by hand in India and live in homes here in California, the state we call home. Naming each one for a California place brings the two together. Each name is a small nod to where we gather.
What is tussar silk?
Tussar is wild silk from India. The silk is made from the cocoon once the moth flies out, and the yarn is spun by hand, so it has a natural golden sheen and a slightly uneven, textured surface. Tussar is raised by tribal families in eastern and central India, and every piece helps keep their craft alive.
Blended with wool or handloom linen and woven by hand, it gives each throw depth and a soft glow.
How are the throws made?
Each throw starts as hand-spun tussar silk, blended with wool or handloom linen. The yarn is dyed by hand in small batches, so each batch is a little different. It is then wound onto spools on a charkha, a hand-turned wheel, and the long warp threads are laid out and counted, which sets the width of the cloth.
The pattern is punched into a set of cards, like a code. A jacquard harness on top of the loom reads the cards and lifts the right threads. The same punch-card idea later inspired the first computers.
Finally, the throw is woven on a wooden frame loom with no motor, worked by the weaver’s hands and feet: lift half the threads, pass the shuttle through, press the thread tight, and repeat, thread by thread.
Which throw is right for me?
Wool and silk: the warmest. Made for cool evenings and layering over a bed in winter.
Handloom linen and silk: lighter, with a soft drape. Comfortable most of the year.
All handloom linen: the lightest and most breathable, for warm days and coastal evenings.

What’s the difference between your handwoven and block printed cushions?
Our handwoven cushions are woven on a handloom, so their pattern and texture come from the weave itself. Our block printed cushion covers are printed by hand with carved wooden blocks on handloom linen, by the same artisans who print our Amer table linens. They are made to be mixed together.
How do I style throws and cushions together?
Start with one throw and two or three cushions. Mix textures: a handwoven cushion beside a block printed one, a silky throw against handloom linen. Repeat one color across pieces so the mix feels intentional. There is no wrong answer. A diwan is meant to feel layered and lived in.
Will my throw shed?
A handwoven wool blend may release a few loose fibers at first. This is normal and settles with use. If a thread works loose, don’t pull it. Snip it gently with scissors or tuck it back in.
How should I store my throw?
Clean it before storing. Fold it loosely and keep it in a breathable cotton bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sun. For wool blends, a cedar block helps keep moths away. Avoid plastic, which traps moisture.
Are Diwan pieces limited?
Yes. Every piece is made by hand in small batches, so quantities are limited. Once a piece sells out, it may not be made again in the same way.

CARE: TABLE LINENS
How do I wash my Keseriya linens?
Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, which are hard on dyes and natural fibers. Wash separately for the first few washes.
Can I use the dryer?
Air drying is gentler on the fabric and the print, so we recommend it whenever possible. If you do use a dryer, tumble dry on low. Your linens are not fragile, but a little care keeps them beautiful for years.
How do I iron them?
Iron on the reverse side on low heat to protect the fabric and the print. A light steam from the front works well if you prefer a softer, relaxed look.
Will the colors fade over time?
A little softening of color over time is natural, and we think beautiful. With proper care (cold wash, shade dry, no bleach), your linens will keep their character for many years.
Will my linens shrink?
Expect about 3% shrinkage, which is standard for natural cotton. Washing cold on a gentle cycle and line drying in the shade keeps further shrinkage to a minimum.
CARE: THROWS & CUSHIONS
How do I clean my throw or cushion?
Every piece in our Diwan collection is dry clean only. Wool, silk, and handloom linen keep their shape, texture, and color best with professional care.
How do I keep them fresh between cleanings?
Shake them out and let them air in the shade. Keep them out of strong direct sunlight, which can fade natural fibers over time.
Why does my throw look a little different from the photo?
Each piece is woven by hand on a loom, so texture and color vary slightly from piece to piece. Tussar silk has natural irregularities that give it its character. These are the signature of the hand, not flaws.

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on U.S. orders of $150 or more.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within the United States. If you are outside the U.S. and would love a piece of Keseriya, reach out and we will do our best to find a way.
How long will my order take?
Please allow 2 to 3 business days for your order to ship. Once it’s on its way, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking. Tracking can take 24 to 48 hours to update.
What if something arrives damaged?
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery at hello@keseriya.com with a photo and your order details. We will make it right. No runaround, no fine print.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES
What is your return policy?
Because our pieces are made in small batches, we ask that you reach out within 30 days of receiving your order if something isn’t right. Items must be unwashed, unused, and in their original condition. Write to us at hello@keseriya.com and we’ll work through it together, thoughtfully.
How do I return my items?
Email us at hello@keseriya.com before sending anything back, and we’ll send return instructions. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. Please use a trackable shipping service; Keseriya is not responsible for returns lost in transit.
Can I exchange for a different size or color?
We will do our best. Exchanges are possible, subject to availability. Please reach out before placing a new order so we can guide you to the right solution.

Are your linens good for gifting?
They are made for it. A set of block printed napkins, a tablecloth for a new home, a throw for someone who loves a cozy corner. These are the gifts people remember long after the occasion has passed.

Can I add a gift message?
Yes. Any order placed on keseriya.com can include a handwritten note. Type your message in the note box in your cart, and we’ll write it by hand and tuck it into your package. Words alongside a handmade gift feel right.
Do you do custom or bespoke orders?
We love a good creative conversation. If you’re interested in a specific colorway, a custom size, or a larger order for a wedding, family gathering, or corporate event, reach out. We’ll tell you honestly what is possible and what isn’t.
Do you work with boutiques or wholesale buyers?
